I do not have a direct answer to your query, but I may have some help for you. From memory, I know I have seen an obituary of a Theodore Tobiason who was murdered in Washington state about the time you mention. I cannot locate the obit, as it used to be in my possession. I got it from an old Decorah, Iowa, newspaper photocopy, as Theodore had family still in that area at the time. I also remember that the murderer was a mentally unstable man who thought Theodore owed him money ... which was not true. I believe he was shot. This may or may not be your Theodore? Also, I have located an obituary of a Henry Tobiason, who also had family in Decorah. The notice was received by Henry's brother, William Tobiason, of Decorah. Henry died July 1, 1937, Davenport, Wash. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Tobiason and was born Dec. 8, 1861, in Decorah. He moved to Spokane, Wash., in adulthood, then to Davenport in 1890, where he owned a harness shop, continuing business there for 47 years. He was associated with his son Powell in the business. He was survived by wife, son Powell, daughter Mrs. Carl Horn, all of Davenport, a brother, William, and a sister Julia Gjermo, both of Decorah. Hope this helps. Dan Haglund 912 11th St. S.
