Hi Rebecca

It would be interesting to find out more about the origins of your Tocher family in Canada. I have a copy of a letter written in the 1920s by Mary Tocher, known as Polly, one of my great great aunts born in Auchterless,Aberdeenshire Scotland, who describes her visit to Canada. She made contact with some Tochers in Toronto whose family had emigrated from New Deer, Aberdeenshire and settled in the Lake Sinks area of Gulareo. They had been told that the Tochers had originally come from France as our Tochers had also been told. Do you think your great aunt would have some more information about the Czech connection?

You can contact me directly at westmor@clear.net.nz

Janice
