Indeed, the name in at least from my genealogy going back at least 4 generations to Scotland.
My Grandfather William Tocher and Grandmother Annie McDonald (forgive the spelling if not entirely correct) were both from Scotland. Interesting story ... Their marriage ended a long-standing feud between the two clans in Scotland, or so I have been told.

I am interested in the diversity of the name, as it possibly relates to the Tocharian People (as early as 2000 BC), with locations ranging from Pakistan through parts of China. These people were thought to originate from the central Indo-European area and were described as the "early settlers".
