Graham;thankyou for a very helpfull site I have been able to trace our family tree back to the late 1700 It appears they originated in the ythan wells ,forgue area.John Tocher is the name carried forward from the late 1700.My father was born in canada in the province of manitoba.His parents were John Tocher and Jemima Smith his Father birth date was 1819 forgue.I have not found any information on my grandmother Jemima.Iwill continue searching. I just wanted to tell you how much i appreciated your site.Wishing you Happy Holidays. THANK YOU Gordon Tocher
