My Great Grand Father was William Tocher, a soldier(?), who emigrated from Scotland to Bangalore, India some time in the 19th century. One of his children was Herbert William Tocher (d. London, 1982?) who had 16 kids, 2 who died in infancy, 2 in WW2 & the rest were alive at the time of his wife's death in late 1993. The family business in India was hunting & taxidermy.

His second eldest George (b. India 1924) is my father. Most of his siblings returned to the UK in the 1960s, mainly to SE England, but one went to Edinborough & one to Loughborough.

I am a first generation Englishman!
