Hi Beatrice,
We must be related-I have heard my great grandfather had a twin. Thomas Tolerton married a Catherine Bell in NZ and they had 8 children - Frederick, Agnes, Miriam, John Valentine, Anne Catherine, Elizabeth, Thomas (my grandfather) and Dunlop. James married a Margaret MFadden and they had 2 children James and Catherine. Thomas (my grandfather) married Rose Helen Mason and had 5 children Jack, Betty, Thomas (my father), Catherine and William.
Both James and Thomas were farmers in New Zealand.
All the Tolertons in New Zealand are related. My father married Kathleen Laurence and had 3 girls. If you would like to find out more information or keep in touch you can email me on cmaddocks@pnc.com.au
