My great-grandmother was Vita Maria Tomasulo, b. ca 1877, who married Giuseppe Giammatteo by 1898. They had a son named Vito Giuseppe Giammatteo b. ca 1898, then Giuseppe emigrated to New York City ca 1900. His wife and son joined him in January 1903. Their immigration record says they were from San Fele, and all the family stories have mentioned Potenza, so I know I'm on the right track. My grandmother, Antonetta Giammatteo, was born in New York City in March 1904.
Vita Maria's death record says that her parents were Giuseppe Tomasulo and Lucia Donderio (I may have gotten her surname wrong, the handwriting was difficult to read).
Giuseppe's death record says that his parents were Vito Antonio Giammatteo and Maria Lieti (again, that may be wrong due to illegible handwriting).
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear from you.
