Hi Rosalie, I am a cousin to Laurie. My great grandpa
bought Agnes Tomczak (mother of Lawrence, Michael, Petronella, and Anthony) with him on their voyage to the US in 1880. Lawrence was married to Lucy Gielda, sister of
my ggrandpa, Sebastian. I went through the records
for Drzazgowo this evening and did not find an Andrew Tomczak married to a Frances. Births in the church records
only go to 1864 so I could not find birth of Sophia or
Stella. However, I did find the civil death record for
Petronella Tomczak provided by her husband, Casimer Szurczak. On 7 Feb 1879, he states that she is 27 years old
and that she was born in Plawce. The church records for this
town may be in the parish at Sroda. I do not have these
records at our local FHC, but they are availabe from SLC.
It is interesting to note that the church at Sroda also
has record for the village of Slupia, where I have
found records for the parents of Sebastian and Lucy Gielda.
The Tomczak name appears many times in our family tree.
Please feel free to email me and I will give you the "list"
BTW, Casimer Szurczak and his 2nd wife, Catherine Lis, also
end up in Bay City, along with Johns Szurczak, the son of Casimer and Petronella.
Best of luck
