We need to positively identify the father of Nicholas Tompkins. Cannot find source for his birth, death, or burial. We would like to connect him to William, who is a descendant of several Mayflower Pilgrims, John Alden, Priscilla Mullen, George Soule. His wife, Cornelia Hart Tompkins Dunmoor is interred with her son, Charles Nicholas Tompkin and William and Elizabeth Tompkins (Nicholas father?) in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery ins Oswego.Several researchers show that he is the son of William and Elizabeth (Davenport) Tompkins.
Sadly, Cornelia and Nicholas' daughter Alma Terressa Tompkins born Jan 24, 1855 died April 4, 1858. A son,
Amos Gilson Tompkins born Mar. 5 1856 died Mar 28 1858 shortly after her husband and the father of these children,
Nicholas J or C Tompkins died Mar 3, 1858, two months after the birth of their third child, Charles Nicholas Tompkins who was born Jan. 1, 1858. I cannot find death documents or places of burial for the three family members who died in early 1858.
