My name is Paul K. Smith and I am doing research into the Smith family- origins in Staffordshire. I have become somewhat sidetracked with the Tonks as my mother was a Tonks and I have a better info on my mother's side.

I have a family tree for Tonks that was prepared by Basil Tonks, suffragan bishop of the Diocese of Toronto (Anglican), back in 1983. It goes back to 1812 to Wolverhampton, England.

From what I can tell I'm not related to this branch of the Tonks, though my branch does originate in Staffordshire.

Let me know if this would be of any use to you. I have transcribed it to a PC file and can forward it to you.
