I probably responded to you via another forum but figured...what they hey...this confirms 100% what I thought.....sorry to bug you but it has been over 24 hrs. <VBG> since the first post and I ain't heard a word yet <LOL>.

Bottom line is that the Thomas Tonks you speak of is my
my grandfather!!!!!!!!

Thomas Tonks married Annie Lydia Mowbray who was from Saltley but born in India (within spitting distance of Ward End). They emigrated to Canada in 1922. They first lived in Walkerton, Ontario and then in Moncton, New Brunswick. In 1930 they moved to Liverpool, Nova Scotia where he became the golf pro at Liverpool Golf and Country Club (White Point Beach Lodge).

They had two daughters......Dorothy born in Windsor, Ontario and my mother, Joan Barbara Tonks, who was born in Smethwick, Staffordshire (some family history there for sure!) as my grandmother tended to have a rather rocky relationship with my grandfather.

Nuff' said........you have a number of relatives here in Nova Scotia and do I have info for you!!!!!
