Ralph & Thomas Tonks Liverpool/Crosby circa 1907

To identify myself I am the son of your Roberta Constance Tonks born Liverpool/Crosby 1907.

I am trying to trace more memebers of my family specifically Ralph Tonks. I suspect he was born in 1853 in either Walsall (St. Catherine's 6b 482)or Wolverhampton (6b 422 or432), but of the possible contenders, it is hard to identify him. The best source would be his death certificate, but I have no concept as to where or when he died.

The migration of my Tonks' to Australia came about because of an Isle of Man link involving Ada. Roberta Constance's mother, and the mother of her second husband, Doug. Quinney, and the mother of another family. the Callows, all had a common mother, - Ann Moore. Of interest Thomas Douglas Quinney was listed as a boarder in the Cox household in the 1891 Census - I presume because the parents were not then married.
Ada , in 1921, whilst residing at 21 Tennyson St. Bootle married this cousin, Thomas Douglas Quinney. They already had one son, Auburn. My mother was a witness at the wedding.
A branch of the Callow family migrated to Australia, and Andrew Callow subsequently sponsored the migration to Australia of the Tonks/Quinney family
Douglas came to Australia to prepare for the migration, sailing on the Barradine. For this reason the second son, Rolland, who was born in England, was given the second name of Barradine. He used to joke that he was glad they had not sailed on the Queen Mary. The family sailed on the Barradine on its next trip. Two further children were born after arrival, Wilfred John and Marjorie, the latter being the sole survivor.
The tree therefore reads as follows:
Thomas Tonks (B.1886 K. 1916)) M.1908 Ada Isabelle Cox (B.1884 D. 1956) F. Ormon Meezer Cox M Catherine Ann Elizabeth Isabella Moore

Their offspring were : Auburn Douglas B.1920 D 1989 Rolland Barradine B. 1922 D1987 Wilfred John B.1924 D. 1998 and Marjorie May B. 1926
There seems little doubt that Connie was the daughter on Tom & Ada although born prior to their marriage. More later if need be.

Vivienne M. Michael Gleeson B. 1940 and they have three children, but I think you have the details from Alicia so I shall not repear them.
I also have details of the next generation of Quinney's, but as with all family history that half of which is mutually fascinating is matched by a further half which is of no great interest and thesedetails would be even furter from your beaten track.

Yours sincerely
Tom Roberts
