I have just recently started gathering information on my family from family members.
This is what I have so far.
My grandfather is Thomas George Tonks (DOB: 1926 Sept. 6).
His father was William John? TONKS (DOB: 1899 Aug. 14) Westham District, England. Died 1977 Feb. 26 Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. He married Gladys Cheetham (DOB: Unsure...I have 1896 and 1902 in England) She died October 22, 1976 Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. They were married 1921 June 18 in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. William's parents: George Thomas Frederick Tonks and Florence Violet Kellridge? His info: DOB: 1873 England, married 1897 Sept. 4 Homerton, London, England, died 1946 Sept. 19?. Florence's info: DOB: 1878 Dec. 17 England, married 1897 Sept. 4, died 1943 Jan. 24.
George's parents: Thomas Guinnett? Tonks DOB: 1829 June 14 England, married 1853 May 15, Surrey, England, died 1907 Feb 28. Martha Sarah Matthews DOB: 1833 Feb 22, married 1853 May 15, Surrey, England, died 1883 June 12.
Thomas Guinnett's parents: William Tonks DOB: 1808 March 20, married 1828 Nov 23, Hales Owen, England, died ? Mary Guinnett Haynes DOB: 1809 October 17, married 1828 Nov 23, Hales Owen, England, died ?.
William Tonks' parents: William Tonks DOB: 1779 July 13, married 1802 June 24 Aston, England, died ?. His wife Mary ? DOB: 1779 September 28, married 1802 June 24, Aston, England, died ?.
I am told that my family was part of brass factory in the Birmingham area. William Tonks & Sons I believe.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
