May I please jump into the middle of this? I have information on the Tull line, the Daniel A. Tuel line, the letter and several other lines.I have access and talk to all family members of each line everyday. I have looked a million times for William Tuell and have found everybody's but mine.
Let me start here, My g-g-g grandfather was William Carter Tuell b. 1801 VA married to Barbary Duncan b. 1814 Surry Co. NC. They eventually moved to Smyth Co. VA and remained there till death. In the family Bible it states that his father was William "Bill" Tuell. The letter in which reference has been made is from John Tuell, he states that Bill Tuell is the grandfather of Daniel A. Tuel b. 1772 Bull Run, Mannassas VA. He refers to the Tuell's in KY at the canal, this is John Tuell b. 1752 and married to Mary Mason in Sussex VA in 1771. They left VA with George Rogers Clarke and founded Louisville, KY.
Daniel A. Tuel took his family from VA to Fly, Ohio/Sisterville,WV to live. There they ran a ferry across the river from Fly to Sisterville, and were well to do.
John Tuell is the son of James Tull and Rachel White. I have found no connections to Daniel A. Tuel.
The William Tull that you have listed here, please refer to location and date, and I will tell you who he belongs to. I have researched most every William Tull, and have all their family files.
I have the files of these families on hand, and am trying to connect them and find the mysterious William Tuell.
I have about decided that William CARTER Tuell appeared from nowhere.
Please help me, and I will help you.
Many thanks,
Melanie McPherson
