This is Shirley Starks. By coincidence when assembling a Massie gen report for a 'cousin', I perused the 'notes'. This led me to investigate Louzetta Tuley who m'd Duncan Thomas Massie. Are you familiar with this Tooley / Tuley?

I have spelled the name as spelled on abstracted marriage records for her marriage to Duncan Massie, half brother of my Thomas Benj. Massie.

Old Frederick Co, VA Marriage records show:
Louzetta Tuley m'd Duncan Thos. Massie
3 Feb 1823
Guardian Henry & Mary (Tuley) Mitchell were guardians and bondsman for the marriage.

Apparently, they left northern VA shortly after marriage. 1830: I found a Lousetta Massey who lived on the next residence to a Samuel Massey / Massie, between age 60 - 70 in Davidson Co, TN.

I have not swiftly found this reference: Vague memory, there is a Massey / Massie who was witness or bondsman for a Tuley lady in one Tennessee county. I thought it was Samuel; but I don't see it under his notes.

When I saw your name, I was amazed and clicked on this note. Sorry to say, I don't know anything for John Tooley. I will gladly share what I've accumulated from a Tuley / Tooley website. (IF it applies.)

Amazing.. How did we miss the "Tooley / Tuley" among the Massie 'stuff'?
