Native American Tooley?

We were always told that both of my Grandfather's Grandmothers were full blooded indians...one Blackfoot and the other Cherokee. This would have to fit in with the wife of James Calvin Tooley 1854-1923 or maybe even his father Hall S. Tooley 1794-1878. Has anyone ever heard this or is it just folklore?
