Hi David, yes I was aware of Joseph's connection with the Pentrich revolution and of other family members too. I didn't realise the family moved to France however, but that would explain why I cannot find many of the family members on later censuses and also why Alfred Topham's first child (Emma) was born in France. I have a possible marriage for Catherine Topham (1835 d/o Joseph and Julia) to a Thomas Goulder but can find no other record for them, would you know if this marriage took place? I would be interested to hear which line you descend from, myself, I go from Joseph and Ann Fletcher (possibly cousins) to Jesse,also a Pentrich revolutionary, to David Fletcher etc. Feel free to contact me direct.
