I am doing similar research. I have recently compiled a chart of the family of Richard Simpson and Mary Topham which involves 2 sons who were apparently Loyalists who immigrated to Canada, me having descended from one of them.

I would be interested primarily in any evidence showing Col. John was the brother of Mary Topham. Hopefully my continued efforts will help you someday.
