I wonder whether your grandfather Wilson Topham could have been the son of James Wilson Topham, who, in his turn, was the son of James Henry Topham, born 1861, who emigrated to "America" from the family home in West London.

James Henry was the youngest son of Charles Topham (1818-1889), who married Frances Bourne, elder daughter of the artist James Bourne.

James Henry, who at the age of 19 was a ship-broking clerk, incidentally, was one of six children, including two sets of twins. His own twin, Margaret, did not marry, but was a teacher in Surrey, England.

I am descended from one of his brothers.
