Hi, Kay:
I saw your recent posting about the above and his wife, Susannah Stoddard. I was wandering around in the New England records recently and found that the lady's maiden name was Harden or Hardin, depending. She was married three times. The first was to Abel Stoddard 20 May 1784 in Abington, MA. (MA Vital Records to 1850). Abel was the son of Phineas and Elizabeth Stoddard and was born 19 Sep 1768 in Woodstock, CT. (Vital Records of Woodstock, CT, 1686 - 1854). I don't know whether he died or they divorced as I found no records about that or whether they had any children. The only mention of Abel was that he was warned out of Plymouth on 14 Jul 1781 as a transient. (Plymouth Court Records, 1686 - 1859). She then married William Torrance, and after his death in 1800, married Constant Church 18 Jan 1813 in Pembroke. (MA Vital Records to 1850). She had no children by Mr. Church, either, and outlived him by 13 years, dying in 1828. Nancy
