Tom, this isn't my line, but I believe that the "first" of these Roberts who m. Betsy Kinder was the father of "Lizzie."

The second Robert, s/o Robert who m. Margaret Netherton is the Robert who is said (on this forum?) to have gone to Oregon with or near the same time as William Sinclair Torrance. But Robert didn't stay in Oregon, instead returning eastward and marrying Margaret in Missouri and remaining there.
