Your question was well stated. You might be surprised to learn that there were two sets of a William with a son William, but with the dates and locations, it took me two minutes to find your line.
You are connected to the main Torrence family.
I come down to your family, and then have no further information, so I would enjoy getting information from you.
James Torrence (1703-) of Ireland had a family of 8.
The oldest was William Torrence (1729-1751) x Eleanor of Chanceford, York Co, PA
The other siblings lived in Cumberland Co, PA; Mecklenburg Co, NC; Ireland; Mount Pleasant, York Co, PA; Baltimore; Frederick, MD; and Salisbury, NC.
William had the two kids you mentioned:
William Torrence, Jr (c1748-1807) x Ann
John Torrence (1750-1827) x Jane
A cousin was better known:
James Galbraith Torrence (1784-1847) x 1809 Nancy Davidson (1792-1818)
b 1821 Mary Latta (1799-1824)
c 1827 Margaret Allison (1798-1880)
Cedar Grove Plantation (3273 acres, 71 slaves)
William and Ann had:
Jane Torrence (-1828) x 1791 John Watson
Aaron Torrence (-1831)
John Torrence (-1841)
Mary Torrence (1770-1849) Adams Co, PA
Anne Torrence (1778-1827) Adams Co, PA
Rebecca (*) x 1810 Alexander M McGaughey
and John and Jane had:
Robert Torrence (1782-1859) x Katherine Shafer (1783-1858) of Fairfield Co, OH (Lancaster area); and Grass Creek, Fulton Co, IN
Jane and John Watson had John Watson, Jr
Rebecca and Alexander had William McGaughy
AND that is as far as I go.
