I found your post while searching for variations of my name, Tetherow. You gave no dates to your line, and did not respond to the other reply, so I will give some of mine that seem similar in names, but different in dates (earlier) from the other reply.
My line is:
Another in our line researched and wrote a book on our family in 1984. He found information on the early families in the books "The Hoffman's of North Carolina" by Max Ellis Hoffman, and "Our Kin" by Laban Miles Hoffman. Both listed John Dettero as an immigrant arriving in Philadelphia October 6, 1768. He married Mary Hoffman around 1776 in Virginia, and shortly thereafter moved to North Carolina. Their list of children included:
Susan, Michael, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Hannah, Margaret, Catherine, George, Jacob, Soloman, Jonathan, Barbara, and Sally.
There was a marriage date found for the John in this family of 1803 to Elizabeth Clemmer.
Our writer did not pursue research on the other children from this family, but did note that various spellings were used in their descendants.
