Thanks for the additional info. You are the first that has said that JOHN and JOHANN were 2 different men.

Also, have been given info that their sister, Margareta DETTERO, married Valentine "Felty" CLEMMER (parents of John Dettero, Jr.'s wife, ELizabeth Clemmer). John Jr. and Elizabeth Clemmer Dettero were 1st cousins. No wonder we're all mixed up!!

Am still searching for parents of my Eli (b. 1826); David (b.1825) and Joseph (b. 1820). Mother drowned, father remarried. After father died, stepmother sent boys away. Please keep me in mind if someone stumbles on to something. (We know that Elizabeth Clemmer Dettero drowned in 1827, can't find info on 2nd marriage for John Dettero, Jr. that fits in the time frame we have--- 1828-1840.)

Will be most appreciative for any help. Happy Holidays!!
