I would suspect that you are indeed a descendant of John Tower of Hingham, as many of the New England Tower's migrated to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The President of the Tower Genealogical Society, who maintains a huge data base of Tower names is unavailable for a few weeks, but I will email him your questions on his return. In the meantime, if you can email me at, I will add your name to the list of family members wanting more information. The reunion is scheduled for late June 2009. The TGS Board has just been presented with the preliminary material.

Also, if we determine that you are a descendant, you are eligible for membership in the Tower Genealogical Society. We publish a newsletter 10 times a year, have published genealogy texts, and maintain a large Tower data base. The website for TGS is:
