These 3 documents arrived today from Rockingham Co.

"I Christian Myers do hereby acknowledge and declare that Levi C. Myers my Son is of age (that is) upwards of twenty one years. We the under signed witnesses certify the Same.

This day I Henry Towles made oath before me D. H. Gambill Depy Clerke of said County thate Ellenor Towles Daughter of William Towles Decd who is about to entermarry with Levi Moyers is upwards of Twenty one years of age and resides in this County. Sworn under my hand this 20th November 1840

"KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, THAT WE, Levi Moyers and Henry Towles
are held and firmly bound unto His Excellency, Thomas W [...] Esquire, Governor of Virginia, and his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth, in the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed and dated this 20 day of November 1840 in the 65th year of the Commonwealth.
The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Levi C. Moyers and Elinor Towles Daughter of William Towles Deceased of Rockingham county: if, therefore, there shall be no cause in obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Levi C. Myers [b. abt 1819, VA] and Eleanor Towles [b. abt 1820, VA] had the following children:
Sarah E., b. Abt. 1844, probably Rockingham Co., VA
Erasmus G. [or D.], b. 1847, probably Rockingham Co., VA
Furius Camillus, b. Abt. 1849, OH
Emily Jane, b. Abt. 1850, probably Hampshire Co., VA
Julia Ann, b. 03 February 1852 or 1853, probably Hampshire Co., VA

The family is found in the following locations:
1850: Hampshire Co., VA [now WV]
1860: Vernon Twp., Hancock Co., IN
1870+: Polk Twp., Marshall Co., IN and St. Joseph Co., IN

Children Erasmus, Furius Camillus, Emily Jane and Julia Ann all married in Marshall Co., as did Levi C. after Eleanor died.
