But what are the VA genealogies basing this on? That is what I have been wondering. The SC genealogies claim CLARK vs. TOWLES as evidence. Not having seen it myself, I do not know. I also find it strange that an Oliver would be called jr. if his father's name was John. Not that that couldn't happen. I am just wanting to get at the primary sources so I can see for myself.
