Gladys Towles Root was indeed a lawyer in Los Angeles, CA in the 1950's. She was noted for wearing outlandish hats. I saw her once as she was shopping in the May Co. Downtown L.A. I am sure a connection with the LA Time would be fruitful on her. She was indeed a character that caught your attention. I have nothing personal on the woman but I was interested because I had just started to get linterested in following the Towles name.
