This may be of help to someone researching these families. Henry Towles b. 1670 mar Hannah (Ann) Theriot. Three or four generations later Therit Towles b. 5/8/1788(note similarity of name) ,son of Thomas Towles and Mary Smith, Mar. Ann Walker Smith. Evidently the name Theriot was passed down to Therit. This is speculation on my part bet it does make sense. sperkins@3wave.com
