Hi! Libby, I just found out that I am a decendent of Tabitha Towles and James Abney and their son Joel Abney. Joel Abney and Elizabeth (Holebrook)had a daughter named Caroline b.10 Jul 1832. Caroline was first married to an R Cooper, (1850 Census: Mississippi, Yalobusha Co., North of Yalobusha River,Series:M432 Roll:382,Page:448, Dwelling #1029). She later married James W. Bryan/Bryant approx 1865. James Bryan and Caroline (Abney)are my gg grandparents. They are found in the US census as follows:1870 Census: Mississippi,CALHOUN,BIG CRK PO,Series: M593 Roll:722 Page:419,Dwelling #77;
1880 Census: Mississippi,CALHOUN,District 13,Series:T9 Roll:6422 Page:518A;
1900 Census: Mississippi,CALHOUN,1-BT,Series:T623Roll:802 Page:128;
1910 Census: Mississippi,CALHOUN,1-BT,Series:T624 Roll:734 Page:20,Dwelling #68.
I would be interested in sharing anything I might have. Would like to know what other info you might have on Joel and his ancestors etc.
