Dear Carmen,
Thank you so much for the post! I have completed my thesis on your father, but am still really interested in continuing my research on him and other big band leaders of the midwest. It would be really great to continue our communication over email, phone, or "snail mail."

Your father's years a big band leader are really interesting. After forming his band in Dallas, he moved the band up to Omaha and developed a really good reputation. He seemed to always be rebuilding the band as members were moving on to other bands and moving out to New York. I have a recording of a wonderful interview with Ruth that was conducted ( I believe) in 1978. If you're interested in hearing that I can make arrangements.

Thanks again for your post. I hope to hear from you soon. My email is

Kevin Fullerton
