Stokley Towles was married twice. The name of his first wife is not known. He had 10 children by his first wife, namely; Joseph, John, Mary who married Thomas Sparks, Jane who married Isaac Medley, Judith who married Robin Terrill, Lucy Towles who married Robin Garnett, Nancy who married Russell Hill, Frances who married Richard Vawter, Catherine who married Abraham Eddings, and Elizabeth who married Hugh Martin. Stokley Towles married a second time, a widow named Jane Wharton, who had two children namely, John Wharton and Sarah Wharton who married William Clark. Stokley Towles and his second wife Jane had two children, Mary who married a Mr. Clark and Henry Towles. Stokley Towles will is found in the Culpeper County, Virginia in Will Book A, pages 173 & 174, dated January 15, 1757 and entered for probate on December 15, 1757.

James Towles (son of Stokley Towles & his first wife) married and had six children. The name of his wife is unknown. The names of 3 of his children can be found in Madison County, Virginia - File No. 14 - the settlement of the estate of Henry Towles a half-brother of Joseph Towles. This suit covers the year of Henry Towles's will 1835 through 1856. A daughter of Joseph Towles married Adam Snyder, Henry Towles, son of Joseph Towles, married Elizabeth ?, Sally Towles, daughter of Joseph, married William Rowe on March 31, 1787, in Culpeper County by Rev. William Mason, Baptist. Sally & her husband went to Kentucky.

Adam Snyder and his wife Miss Towles, had two children: Robert and Sarah who married Abraham J. Utz. (File No. 8A - Madison County, Virginia Ending 1828, Taylor vs Utz.
