Very interesting - My gggrandfather was named Berry Toweles! Berry Towles has been my brick wall. See the following query
Frances HUNTER and Berry TOWLES : Who were the mother and father of Berry L. TOWLES, who was born 1818 in South Carolina and died ca 1884 in Anderson County, Texas. We first find Berry L Towles in Sumter County, AL, when he married Mary Ann HILL on 18 Oct 1838. On each census, his mother Frances A. Hunter is listed as living next door. She was born ca 1799 in South Carolina, and died May 1856 in Freestone County, TX. Need to know who was the father of Berry L. TOWLES. What was the mothers maiden name, and from what part of South Carolina did the family originate. Evidently Berry was the only child, no other relatives are mentioned in her will.
