John: It is a history of the Towles line that came from Culpeper and went up into Taylor Co. WVa. (John W. Towles, m. Sarah Anne Creel, Sept 1847; he was the son of Henry Towles and Elizabeth Weatherall of Culpeper). I have a copy of the printer's receipt and a couple hand written pages in my family papers that John Wellington Towles,(Son of John W.Towles),who was my G-G-Grandfather left (he died in 1880). According to the print order there were 75 copies (80 pages with cloth covered medium hard cover,) of it printed in June of 1876. We have no idea of how these copies were distributed, only that I had seen one in my grandfathers' (Ralph Towles) library in 1952 when he moved from the house on the Tygart Valley River, up into Grafton. The Grafton house burnt in 1957 and nearly all of his possessions were destroyed. All that we have is a box of old receipts, papers, photographs and the family records pages from the Bible from abt.1800 and some property deeds. So, I had hoped that there is a copy somewhere out there.
