This may be of some help and maybe not, but it is worth checking into. My GGGG-Grandfather William Towles was living in Dale County Alabama in 1850. He had a son by the name of Morris G. Towles. I do not have any dates on this Morris but he was born between 1807 and probably no later than 1820. Although this is not your Morris, it could be his father or grandfather. I don't think there were that many Towles living in that area. Morris had two brothers named John C. Towles and William H. Towles. I hope this can give you a jump start. It may be that you too are a descendant of my GGGG-Grandfather William Towles. Please let me know your findings and I will keep my eyes open for a younger Morris Towles.
