Kimbal
I have been informed that the 1850 Dale county census list a William Towles (age76).
My grandfather, Morris was born in 1852 and I have to think there is a close tie, since my father was named William N., born in 1896 in Indian Territory (Oklahoma). A brother of Morris, Toliver, his wife Sallie and their son John came to Indian Territory. All are buried in the Dixie cemetary located about 5 miles north of Ringling, OK. Unfortunately, I have very little knowledge of the Towles family prior to my Grandfather. It appears we are decendents of Henry Towles (b 1652), who came from Liverpool to Accomac County and married Anne Stokeley of an earlier Virginia family. These accounts are in a book on Virginia Families, Compendium of America's First Families and in the DAR Lineage Books. In all honesty I have spent very little time in researching the family but I am very interested and appreciate your input and any information on our family history.
Thanks much
Billy
