I talked to my mother and she said that her mother (Gertrude) did have a brother named John and it is possible that she was actually born in London. I never really knew her very well except when I was very young, but I know that she was a ballroom dancer and won a lot of trophies. My mom has the trophies at her house. She did have curly hair as I recall. Although I had never seen pictures of her when she was a child, and neither has my mother, she was very beautiful when she was a young woman. Her husband (my grandfather) died when my mother was eighteen. She remarried and moved to Florida. She passed away about eight or nine years ago. If you have any information about her parents, ie: names, where they were from, etc..please let me know. Thank you for your help.
