I am sorry I did not make my description more clear. We believe Christian and Barbara had a baby girl Catherine Kate Treffenstatt born in Germany 12-27-1752, that died in Pennsylvania before they moved to North Carolina.Manis Fritts said he saw the tombstone on two different.Their sixth daughter was named Catherine (Christine) and should not be confused with the daughter Catherine Kate.
My Grandfather George Washington Travelstead was born Jackson Co. Illinois, on June 04 1867, the son of John SolomanTravelstead Jr..Jr. was the son of John Soloman Travelstead Sr. the son ofWilliam Travelstreet and his first wife Katrine Antoni.
On Dec. 8, 1793, William, who was now using the surname of Travelstreet, paid his brother-in-law (a bondsman), Peter Deal, 250 pounds and married Katrine Antoni, A.K.A. Catherine Anthony. This was a marriage bond that was required when obtaining a marriage license.According to Johnson Co., Ill. Heritage Book, all the children by his first wife were given the surname of Travelstreet.(Source:Lincoln Co. Marriage Records 1783-1866 Females by Frances T. Ingmire).
Here is another tidbit that may interest you.William Travelstreet’s first wife, Katrine Antoni, ran off with a man named George Mouser.William then sued him for alienation of affection in the amount of $2,000.In the year 1810, William sued George Mouser in Common Wealth of Kentucky. She was gone for about three months, then filed for divorce.
