Shelvy and other TRAMMELL Researchers. My name is Judy TRAMMELL Smith, and I began these TRAMMELL, TRAMMEL, TRAMEL posts in 2000. Have not posted any more in quite a while. I am trying to get back into genealogy as time allows. I will re-post my history. Thanks for your interest and sorry if I haven't answered your posts personally. Judy TRAMMELL Smith, formerly of The Woodlands, Montgomery Co., TX., now residing in Henderson, Rusk Co., TX. Me: Judy TRAMMELL Smith m. Jerry Deverl SMITH, s/o Deverl SMITH m. Mildred M. MARTI. My Parents: Henry Claymon TRAMMELL m. Maxine Helen YAWN, d/o Girardus Houston "Buck" YAWN m. Addie Mae HERRING. My Grandparents: Henry Livingston TRAMMELL b. 1900 Shelby Co., TX. m. Oma Lea KOLB, d/o James Alexander KOLB and Mary Rozelia WIGGINS My Great-Grandparents: Samuel L. TRAMMELL b. 1850, Shelby Co., TX., m. Mary Ozella Mickleborough, d/o Mark Henry Mickleborough m. Jane Chamblin ADAMS. (This is my SECOND TRAMMELL CONNECTION: Jane Chamblin ADAMS is d/o Caleb Brassfield ADAMS who m. Harriet B. MOBLEY. Caleb Brassfield ADAMS was s/o General David ADAMS who m. Elizabeth "Betsy" BRASSFIELD. Betsy's 2nd husband was Capt. Dennis TRAMMELL. My Great-Great Grandparents: William T. TRAMMELL b. 1814 GA or LA m. Emily Jane PETTIET d/o Walker PETTIET and Keziah "Kissiah" UNKNOWN. William and Emily had three children; Martha b. 1847, Samuel b. 1850 and William Jr. b. 1852. Martha m. Richard "Dickie" SIMS, Samuel m. Mary Ozella Mickleborough, and William T. Jr. m. Sarah Ann JOHNSON. William T. TRAMMELL, Jr. was killed in a logging accident on the Sabine River and his body was never found. Sarah Ann JOHNSON was d/o Mallaleel JOHNSON, M.D. who was killed making a house call. He was married to Onacata Arreny Magdalona SANFORD/SAMFORD. (This is where it gets really complicated! Martha and Dickie had two children; Henry N. SIMS, who m. Mollie Sullivan and Josie Lee SIMS who m. John Windham PERMENTER. John Windham PERMENTER was the son of Mary Ozella MICKLEBOROUGH, TRAMMELL, PERMENTER, BURKETT. We call her "Marrying Mary"!! Mary Ozella MICKLEBOROUGH first married Samuel L. TRAMMELL... and as she described her marriage..."that was just one of my mistakes"! William T. TRAMMELL was b. 1814, some say GA. some say LA. We find him on numerous census records in Shelby Co., TX. but we know nothing more about him. Most of the older generations are buried in Joaquin, Shelby Co., TX. in the JOHNSON Cemetery. (There is a J.W. TRAMMELL buried there also but I can't seem to connect to him). I have more information on the above mentioned if anyone would like it. I think we are SO CLOSE to making a connection here. The TRAMMELL boys did not leave a paper trail.. MOST of what I have is/can be documented. *** Briefly, to all those who are researching SMITH. My husbands line: Jerry Deverl, Deverl (no other name), b. Trent, Nolan Co., TX. m. Mildred M. MARTI, Amos Floyd b. De Leon, Leon Co., TX. m. Ona Ethyl BRIGHT, Montie Jack Mary Frances "Mollie" PURSER, J. M. SMITH m. UNKNOWN. Happy Hunting! Judy TRAMMELL Smith Notify Administrator about this message?
