Sorry that I'm late responding. It does appear that there is a link with the Tramels of Tenn. and Texas. We had several of the great great uncles move out there and I even have first cousins that live in central Texas. There was even a Tramel that fought at the Alamo! It does appear that all links go back to England and perhaps that Thomas Trammell that I've heard about. Since people usually chose last names that dealt with what they did for a living...I'm assuming that they were fisherman. As I have always loved the sea and fishing, that doesn't surprise me. Thanks for the note. There is a wonderful site that you might want to check out..www.familytreemaker.com it has lots of interesting links and some LDS listings. Let me know what you think.
