Jim Hoover: Your message was directed to Les Buckalew regarding Sampson Trammell (1725-`1794), son of John Trammell Jr. (1700-May 1755) (m. Susanna Harle). Excuse me for butting in. I have this Sampson listed as sixth generation under Thomas Trammell (fifth under Phillip Trammell (m. Mary Alice Williams). My Sampson is thus the sibling of John III, William, Susannah, Elizabeth, Lettice, and Milca Trammell (all having alternate spellings, of course), and the son of John Jr and Susanna Harle. My fifth generation (4th under Phillip) would have another Sampson born 1712 (marital and family unknown). Several Trammell researchers mention this Sampson (1712-?) as a mystery. Maybe died young? You can view the limited Sampson material I have on my web page http://laanderson.com/tramm-t.htm and can see a chart of the Thomas Trammell tree on my web page at http://laanderson.com/tt-summ.htm Brian Green (has some material online also) has an Americanized spelling of "Kerhappuch" Garrett, but shows her to be the sole spouse of this Sampson. Les Buckalew has a first spouse named "Director SMALLWOOD" (1725-1794) and their eleven children. Les Buckalew has done a lot of work on this Trammell clan also and has his material online also. His work has referenced many documentary proofs. He and I are presently discussing some of the different conclusions in our two reports, and one being the last page of his report showing both a David Trammell and Sampson Trammell as a fourth generation under Phillip instead of a fifth generation, and thus placing them as children of John Trammell and Mary Gerrard/Garrard (27 years of child bearing from 1698 to 1725). He could be right and I (and Brian, etc) could be wrong on this point. Neither Les, Brian or I have any information on our web pages regarding Sampson and Kerhappuch Garrett Trammell's children and/or descendants. So, any information you may want to send me at my e-mail address will be appreciated and will be added to my online report (whether supported by "preponderance of the evidence" or by supposition - I am not going to be a genealogical judge or jury, as I will leave that to the higher authority above).
