Will of Joseph NICHOLS of Rutherford County. To my wife Elizabeth NICHOLS her maintainance of the plantation whereon she now resides, likewise the household furniture during her life time, they to be equally divided amongst my four daughters, viz, Jane, Phebe, Levinia, and Abigail NICHOLS. To my son Joshua NICHOLS all the plantation whereon I now reside and all my stock of horses, cows, hogs, and sheep, also my farming utensils. To my son Joshua NICHOLS take care and support my four daughters so long as they remian unmarried or choose to abide with him. I will that my son Joshua give each of my four daughters out of the estate each one a good serviceable horse, saddle, and bridle, one good cow and calf and each of them ten dollars. I will to my son Joshua one feather bed and furniture. I will to my daughter Euphenia TOMLINSON, my son Jonathan NICHOLS, and my daughter Elizabeth DAVIS to each of them five dollars in good trade. I appoint Joshua and Elizabeth NICHOLS my sole executors. This November 7th, 1824. Wit.: William TRAVERS and John ANDREWS. Recorded February 24th, 1826.
