Grandfather of all USA Traylors: Edward

Robert asks how did Traylors come to Chesterfield. By ship, from England to Henrico Co., Va.(parent co. of Chesterfield) in late 1600's. The original Traylor, Edward, b.1639, had at least two sons; the descendants of one son, William, are traced in a book. Someone has entered much of this in Ancestral File at LDS. Edward is AFN # 2LOP-2J. The original immigrant is also known as Eduourd (sp?) Traillour, sparking debate as to whether he is English or French; some say he was born in France but owned property in England. His wife was probably not a Randolph, as some claim. (The Randolphs do not claim us.) A professional genealogist hired by a cousin told me that all the Traylors in the USA are descended from this first Edward. Those descended from his son William, who married Judith Archer, are probably all descended from the notorious Capt. Gabriel Archer, a founder of Jamestown, Va., in 1607. He and Capt. John Smith feuded terribly, almost to the death. Sorry that because I am not home 1) I cannot figure out how to paragraph on this borrowed computer and 2) I cannot cite the Traylor book now. Its subject is the descendants of William Traylor of Henrico, Va. I found it in the Va. State Library in Richmond. Sorry, but I'm being kicked off before I can proofread. Best wishes to all you cousins out there!
