Hi Lovvorn Traylor!

As I have "Trayor" ancestors in my family tree, I have been
trying to do some reseach. I believe that my Traylor great grand parents had some Georgia roots and finally arrived in Marshall Co. Alabama by way of Randolph Co. or Winston Co.

About all I know is that my great-great grandfather's name was:

Richard Traylor born in Ga. Traylor(date and place unknown) I found a"Richard Traylor" on a record of a Randolph Co., Al. census, listed as the head of a Traylor household, a farmer. Also found a listing for an "Andrew Jackson Traylor" at age 19, son of Richard Traylor and single at that time.

I have found no other information found except a seach record listing a Midgeman Traylor as having fathered a son named "Richard".

I have family Bible records listing my great-grandfather, Andrew Jackson Traylor, as born 4-15-1860 as a son of a Richard Traylor and his wife, Sarah Ann Harris Traylor.

We believe that our Andrew Jackson Traylor was born somewhere in Georgia (county unknown). Andrew Jackson Traylor married my great grandmother Leah Lousia Camp, daughter of Ceburn Camp and Susan Hendrix Camp. Leah Louisa Camp was born in Newall, Alabama Dec.8, 1862. She died at age 78 at her country home near Arab, Al. on January 6, 1941. I have correct records of Andrew Jackson
and Leah Lousia's 11 known offspring. Their 3rd child,
Carrie Lousia Traylor Hendrick turned out to be my maternal
grandmother.

I am also trying to trace back ancestors of a JOHN TRAYOR
(son of another John Traylor) who lives in Pisgah, Alabama.
The present John Trayor's of Pisgah, Alabama, has a son named Ted Traylor. So far, we have had no luck with the
John Traylor research. We were hopeful that we could find a connection between their Traylors and my line.

If you have any Traylor ancestral information that would help in our search, it would be much appreciated. I have also posted this same follow-up message to a Brad Traylor,
hoping to get some leads.

Thanks
Gwelda Jo Forrester-Rush
(Better known as "Jo")
