William Augusts Traylor--Civil War records
Posted by: Pamela Zull (ID *****0446) Date: October 09, 2007 at 12:18:07

I have copies of the Civil War record of Rvt. William Augustus Traylor from CO E. , 12 KY Cavalry. I am not related to him that I know of. I sent away for this record in 1995 thinking my ancestor might have fought for the Confederacy from KY, but not so. Anwyay, is there anybody out there who is related to this man? He was captured in MS and sent to the prison in Alton, IL. Alton, IL is so hot and humid in the summer that I am amazed that this Traylor was sent in Oct of 1863 to Alton and transferred in April of 1864. He must have been strong. Pamela
