I hope someone can help me. My gggrandmother was Nancy Jane Treadway of Rome Georgia. Nancy married John Scott Young, I first find them together in the 1870 census in twp. 12 in Calhoun County Alabama post office Ladiga - John is 53
Nancy is 30
then in the 1880 census in Chereokee County Alabama
with their sons
James Matthew Young 14
William Josh Young 10
John Harland Young 4 months
I have Nancy's obit that says she died in her home in Lavender, she is buried in the North Rome Cemetery in Georgia. She died on June 03,1903 at the age of 58. I run into alot of sites listing Nancy married to a Thomas Young this is not true. The other problem I have is her father is listed as Ezekiel Treadway, I find her in the 1860 census in Floyd Springs in Floyd County Georgia with her father James M. Treadway and her mother Nancy. I know it is her as she has named her children after her father and her brothers.
Also on the Treadway web site they have Ezekiel and Ellis sons of Daniel and Mary Buffington with the same children so I am trying to figure out which one is Nancy,s grandfather Ellis Treadway or Ezekiel Treadway I am leaning towards Ezekiel only because of name patterns the name Ezekiel comes down my line there is no Ellis. I hope someone out there can help me with this family. Thank you Jim Young
