Sorry it's taken me so long to reply; I haven't had a chance to check the GenForum's over the holiday. Yours certainly caught my eye, since my husband's name is Jerry.
I've mostly searched cemetaries, census records, and marriage records to find what I could on my Treadways. My husband's grandmother, who is 91, was a big help, as well. They were also once Treadaway, I believe. Many of the earlier records for my husband's gg-grandfather were listed as Treadaway, while the later ones, after he moved to AR from TN, were Treadway.
