I am adding this change to my post of 6/27/01: I find that my great grandfather & mother actually resided in the Studdards Crossroads area of Fayette County, Alabama in 1860 and not 1850. I now have a 1860 census indicating that he was 24 years of age at that time and she was 25 years of age. He was born 1836 in NC and she was born 1835 in NC. Also in 1860 they had 2 children but my grandfather, Andrew Jackson Treadaway was not born until 1865. Wade Treadaway was in the 1st Ala Cal (Union) during the Civil War and the family was in Illinois for a short period of time immediately after the Civil War. They did return to Fayette Cty, Ala. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me in finding out more about them,
