I have some information on this family at my web site <http://showcase.netins.net/web/treadway/genealogy/index.html>.
It is true that some members of this family were Quaker. Thomas P's grandfather Daniel appears in the records of Gunpowder Meeting in Maryland, though it is not clear that any of his children were actually members.
My files, which generally follow information in William T Tredway's /History of the Tredway Family/ (Pittsburgh 1930) indicate that the man who married Jemima Duncan was the widower of Ruth DeMoss. For what it's worth. I suppose this might be verified if we could find his will, or the 1850 census, and find children from both marriages listed with the same father.
