"Edward Treadway and His Descendants" is a 400+ page manuscript published as of 1976 detailing most of the descendants of Edward (1784-1859). Edward came in the fall of 1829 to Monroe Precinct, Cass County, Illinois where he was a farmer. He was the son of Thomas Treadway and Christiana Saunders and the grandson of Daniel Treadway and Sarah Norris of Harford County, Maryland. The hardbound manuscript is held by several descendants of Edward and by some regional genealogical libraries. A copy is held by the Newberry Library in Chicago, Illinois. The compiler of the manuscript is the late Oswell Garland Treadway who was a Chicago Attorney and who for more than 50 years prior to 1976 compiled the published information by correspondence with family members. Contact with those researching Cass County (Il) Treadway families is welcomed.
